The boards are flat and the binding is sound. Inevitably, the cloth covering has attracted some ingrained dirt, but the overall appearance is surprising fresh for a book of this age. Aprevious paste-down, approx 10cm x 6.5cm, appears to have been removed from the inside of the front board, leaving a few remnants of white paper from the paste-down. The covering to the baord itself appears undamaged. There is what appears to be an iron stain about 1cm square on the top inside edge of the front board. this is echoed by similar stains,progressively reducing in size, on the top edge of the first 5 pages.
