Some wear to spine ends, a few minor blemishes, a clean very good copy generally. 16 pages of ads at the rear. Quite uncommon.

cat40a. London: John Heritage, The Unicorn Press, (1936). First edition. Light brown cloth, spine designed and lettered in black. Some wear to rear hinge, ownership inscription on front fly leaf, a very good copy. Unfortunately, someone has marked up the first three pages of the prologue with a blue pencil, making many notations. This novel concerns the Slavs under Austrian domination. Much to do with spys, surveillance, conspiracy. The novel seems to combine elements of a murder mystery, with much concerning the circus. An unusual novel. The author wrote one other book, which is listed in Hubin: MURDER AT THE LAKES (Mortiboys, 1936). Both books are extremely uncommon.

An ownership inscription and a couple of small ink stamps on end papers and occasional pages, from a private lending library, small marks to page edges and a few margins, a very good copy. Mystery and Science Fiction, a tale involving radioactivity and "negative matter" used to achieve antigravity. A very uncommon book. Bleiler: SF: The Early Years, 2403. Winsor is best known for his SF novel "Station X" (1919).

This map shows Prague and Dresden, and the route marched by the Prussian Army through the area in 1757.

Lower spine torn, rear hinge worn, some dust soiling, about very good otherwise. A Japanese translation of D'Annunzio's work, only the title page in English, text entirely in Japanese.

Ashland: Origin Press, 1959. Second edition.. Tan wrappers, sewn. Printed paper label on front cover. Light edge wear, a clean very good copy. This copy belonged to Canadian Jazz Musician and Professor R.H. Grooms, who has written on the title page indicating that he received the book from Gary Snyder in Kyoto in 1961, while visiting him at his farm house with Alan Watts. Included is a copy of Watts' book The Wisdom of Insecurity (Pantheon, 1951, Ninth Printing) in a faded dust jacket, with a note inside by R.H. Grooms stating that he met Watts in Kyoto. An interesting association copy, but not signed by Gary Snyder.

Printed at the Arif Press, distributed free by Serendipity Books at the International Antiquarian Book Fair in San Francisco, 1973. A fine copy.

Somewhat sprung, discoloration to the boards and some dust soiling at edges, very good otherwise. A printed poem on heavy stock is pasted to the front end paper. A translation of Riou's LETTRE FLAMANDE (1909). Riou was a french author and radical.

Amsterday: Van Holkema & Warendorf, [1941]. . These are possibly proofs from this book; they are the frontispiece and illustrated title page, both signed in pencil beneath by Dirk Van Gelder. One leaf, folded in half, fine condition; the leaf has been pasted to a page from a binder, glued only at the fold, and can be easily removed. Images are about 2 x 3.25 inches, the entire sheet measures 11 x 7 inches when opened.

Boston: Copeland and Day, 1897. First edition. Salmon blind-stamped cloth, spine and front cover lettered in gilt. Colour end papers with a map design. Title page printed in red & black. Signed by Burgess on the half-title leaf, dated 1898, with a small humorous drawing. Some sunning of the spine, light chipping to spine ends, another 1898 ownership signature on the front flyleaf, a bit of glue residue on the verso of the front end paper (from a removed bookplate?); a very good copy in general.
