Small, 7 x 4"", 248 pages, illus w/ tipped- in miniature (approx. 3"" x 3""- varies) b/w plates & 1 fold out 3 pg. plate, all present & complete. Tan cloth binding w/ silhouette profile of Goethe & ruled borders on front shows some soil, rubbing- not severe. Outward vert. bow to front cover- does not really detract. All lettering & decoration intact & legible- copy actually displays pretty well. Lightest toning to text; tight, unmarked. NO hinge splits, NOT ex library. Nice little copy.

DJ is VG: glossy w/ only light use- bit of rubbing, minor edge wear (incl. 1 sm. closed tear- NO chips or fray), v. light sun-fade to spine panel. DJ displays very well. Book is Near Fine to Fine. Dark green cloth binding is tight, square, clean & bright w/ little to no wear. All gold lettering on spine is crisp & intact, though a bit tarnished. Copy displays extremely well. Green cloth binding is tight, square & clean w/ only a trace of rubbing & edgewear, 2 v. minor narrow white scuffs (1/2 & 1/4"") on back cover. NO sun discolor, bumps or fray. All gilt lettering & title decoration bright, crisp & totally intact. Copy displays very well. Text & endpapers are tight, bright, clean & UNmarked- just a hint of toning. NO owner name, hinge splits, etc.; NOT ex library. Very handsome, well- preserved copy.

Text on glossy stock w/ profuse full- color photos- excellent production standards. DJ is Fine+, clean & bright w/ just a bit of edge curl (NO other wear, tears or chips). Glossy photo binding replicates dust jacket & is totally unmarred- tight, clean & square- looks brand new. The ONLY thing that keeps this copy from being As New is small owner name/ address inkstamp on 1st blank page- therefore a VG condition rating. Text is otherwise New- tight, white, clean & unmarked- appears unused. Excellent copy.

A nice representative copy (esp. interesting is section on deciphering doctors' handwriting on prescriptions).
