Munich: Vydannia Bratstva kol. Voiakiv 1-oi Ukrains'koi Dyvizii UNA, 1953. Illustrated wrappers. Book measures: 20 x 15 cm. 37 pages: maps. Text in Ukrainian. A good copy with slightly soiled wrappers.

The Chortkiv offensive, also known as the June offensive, was a military operation by the Ukrainian Galician Army (UHA) led by Oleksander Hrekov in June 1919. Its aim was to push back Polish forces and secure maneuvering space for the UHA. Although it initially achieved tactical victories, capturing Chortkiv and pushing the Polish army back, resource shortages prevented the UHA from consolidating its gains. On June 28, 1919, Polish forces broke through the Ukrainian front lines, forcing the UHA to retreat to the Zbruch River. Despite its limitations, the Chortkiv offensive showcased the UHA's military capabilities and high morale, which would later be demonstrated in battles against the Red Army in eastern Ukraine.
