A binder of 70 single weight glossy photos c. 1940's-50's of distinguished patrons, movie stars and society types drinking and dining in the nightclub El Morocco nightclub in New York City with its iconic zebra patterned banquettes. Original 8" x 10" and some 5" x 7" publicity shots, many images of the nightclubs legendary impresario John Perona (owner and operator, originally opened as a speakeasy during prohibition) seated and posing with the clubs affluent clientele. An expertly tinted albumen photo imprinted with the photographer's credit "Jabez Hughes" and "Ryde I.W" on original printed mount memorializing the 1875 event. On the lower margin the following is neatly inscribed in script "Presentation by the Queen of New Colours to the 79th Cameron Highlanders of Parkhurst, 17th April, 1875". Print measures 6 1/4" x 8 1/2", mount 12" x 15". Very good condition, mount has scattered foxing and small 1/4" tear on right side but the print is in excellent condition with a few light areas of foxing. * Price includes discount *
