Chicago: Rand McNally, 1920. Hardcover. Good. Not Applicable. 1920 Characterology an Exact Science by L. Hamilton McCormick Illustrated. I find the 'preface to the preface' quite interesting. The author speaking to the idea that the problem of our age is man. The controlling element in man is the brain. The most profound mystery of the brain is its occupant, the mind, and as it is upon the variety of mine that character depends, it is in regard to the mind and its dispositions that this volume is concerned. It is quite interesting how the actual physical elements are combined into a near metaphysical framework in this volume despite it never really mentioning such disposition. This volume really goes beyond just the scientific thinking of the time and into the roots and results of new age spirituality emerging in the early 20th century. In beautiful shape with just some imperfections on the cover and minor where to the corner. Binding pages hinges and Gilt is all in very good condition.

Edward L Osgood, 1886. First Edition . Hardcover. Good. The Memorial History Of Hartford County Connecticut 1633-1884, Two Volume Set. Overall condition is fair plus. Volume 2 is in better condition than volume one with both of its hinges intact. Pages are very clean on both with minimal foxing and binding is solid. Significant wear to edges and covers and some frame to the sides and edges of spine. I also have the Deluxe supplement which I believe belongs to this set available in my shop.
