The book itself is in phenomenal condition and among the best I have ever seen. The hinges and binding are tight, which is uncommon for this edition, and for books of this size from that era more generally. The pages are clean without any notations, stamps, underlining, or previous owner's marks. The jacket has not fared as well, as it has fully separated along the joint where the front panel meets the spine backstrip and also at the front flap. It has some loss around the top of the spine crown. Nevertheless, the jacket presents well and is quite scarce in the first issue.
