The text discusses the causes of baldness, and describes techniques for cultivating luxurious and strong hair, including scalp massage, pulling of dead hairs, brushing and combing. There are also sections of care of eyelashes and eyebrows. Creasing to pages, bit of foxing, soiling and staining to covers.

Covers detached, covers worn, spine cloth fraying, pages toned, closed tears to a few pages, minor chipping to margins of a few leaves, staining to a few pages, chip to corner of pp. 99-100 with loss to a couple of letters of text.

Scarce booklet showcasing the work of the Jordan Marsh department store's interior decorating department. Each page prints a photo illustrated description of a room of a cottage decorated by the department. Rusting to staples, lower portion of covers detaching from booklet, bit of toning and soiling to covers, very good overall.

Third edition, revised and enlarged. Binding worn and scuffed chipping along spine with loss to leather, owner inscriptions to front endpapers, foxing to pages, damp staining to last 40 or so pages, chipping to margin of last 20 or so pages and to edge of rear cover, small chip to lower corner of title page.

An attractive copy with toning to pages, front endpaper detaching, binding cracked before half title, wear to corners and spine tips, mild discoloration to covers.

[Philadelphia]: J.B. Lippincott, 1890. 72pp, plus 16 tissue guarded photographic plates depicting Philadelphia scenes, fold-out map; in half brown morocco with gilt lettering and brown cloth. Library stamps to endpapers, binding worn along corners and edges. Very Good. Issued as a “souvenir of the visit of the International American Conference to the city of Philadelphia, November 10-13, 1889.” The Conference was a meeting of delegates from North and South American countries. This book was apparently issued as a souvenir of their visit to Philadelphia, the terminus of a northeastern states tour undertaken by delegates. Gilt-stamped to the lower corner of the binding is the name “Andrew Carnegie,” who was a delegate to the conference. The digitized University of Michigan copy of this book does not have a name stamped on this corner. It is possible that this is a unique copy specially bound for Carnegie himself.

First UK edition, first printing, with "help" for "helped" on page 257, line 4. Mild toning and hint of foxing to pages, small paper abrasion to upper margin of front endpaper.

Profusely illustrated limited edition with color illustrations surrounded text, printed on uncut vellum paper, no 54 of 1050 copies. Very good with soiliing to wrappers, two stains to rear wrapper, minor foxing and toning.
