The gilt titles are slightly faded from rubbing. Otherwise in good clean condition. Internally slightly darkened, but clean and tidy throughout. 92 pages.

Amsterdam: E Maaskamp, 1825. Map of the area around the Zuiderzee and in the north of the Netherlands affected by the flooding in February 1825. The flooded areas are colored blue. Part of a series of five maps of the affected areas. This map is based on Maaskamp's map of Les Provinces du Nord found in his Pocket atlas of the Kingdom of the Netherlands published in 1821. There is an additional title printed and the flooded areas are additionally coloured. Overall in very good condition, with some darkening around the folds. The blue indicating the flooded areas is somewhat faded, but still visible. The February flood of 1825, also known in Germany as the Great Hallig Flood (Große Halligflut), was a devastating flood that occurred from 3 to 5 February 1825 on the North Sea coast, in which about 800 people were drowned. These are comprised of 18 Aquatint engravings and 11 hand coloured pictures of traditional Dutch peasant costumes. The binding is in period red leather, with gilt title and decoration. The binding is in very nice, if slightly rubbed condition. The plates are in excellent condition, many with tissue guards, and in a clean and tidy state. 210 by 140 mm (8¼ by 5½ inches).

Edinburgh: M. Macdonald, 1971. First edition. Softback with original card dust jacket. The dust jacket is very slightly sun faded in spine area. Neat ex libris to front endpaper. Otherwise the book and contents are spotless. Joseph Todd Gordon Macleod (1903–1984) was a British modernist poet, actor, playwright, theatre director and historian, and also a BBC newsreader. He sometimes published poetry under the pseudonym Adam Drinan. Whilst studying at Rugby School, Macleod was a close friend of Adrian Stokes, and at Oxford he was a close friend of Graham Greene. This is his final poem sequence, entirely autobiographical, containing poems which meditate upon his friendships and familial ties, and the process of aging. 37 pages. 220 x 150 mm (8¾ x 6 inches).

London: Art Union of London, 1866. A nice copy of this work, produced on the 800th Anniversary of the Conquest. First Edition. Green cloth with gilt titles and decoration to the front board. There is a little rubbing and marking to the boards, with a touch of edgewear. The front end paper has a little creasing, and there are some small closed tears to the edges. The title and text pages have light foxing to them. The rest of the book has intermittent spotting. The first few leaves have light creasing to them. One introductory leaf with text and explanation to both pages. Followed by 42 leaves, with a full page engraving to the recto only of each leaf. 240 x 510 mm (9½ x 20 inches).

Shows an elderly gentleman on a country road, slowly riding his tricycle in front a charabanc full of people eager to be on their way either to or from a seaside day out. One is holding a 'Kiss Me Quick' sign, some are shouting to get his attention, one has a horn and others have rattles. He seems oblivious to their eagerness to get past. Frankfurt: A.M. Mallet, 1719. The mounts have very slight bumping, but are in good, clean condition. The plates are good impressions, and cleanly mounted. Plate 71 has a slight crease to the right edge, with a "crack" of loss of ink. This would seem to have occurred at the time of printing. Overall in very nice condition. . A pair of copper engravings of the heavens. The first shows Three globes are floating in the sky, an active seaside scene across the bottom including boats, an old coastal village scene, etc. The globes show the Anteciens, the Perieciens and the Antipodes. These are two small to have been of use to a navigator, and were purely decorative. This is numbered plate 49 to the corner. The second, labeled plate 71 shows a pastoral scene, above which there is a disc showing the sun and the astrological symbols. These were issued by A.M. The exhibition at the Rosenbach featured a copy of Manjiro's own lavishly illustrated manuscript account of his adventures, and this companion book includes full-page colour reproductions the manuscript.
