Vintage gelatin silver print on semi-gloss double weight paper, 8" x 10". Artist's credit stamped on verso. "Arthur Miller" and date in pencil on verso. Numbered in pen and pencil on verso. Description:
A charming album of ballooning photographs assembled by a French ballooning enthusiast. Beautiful cover with two ballooning photographs mounted on a painted floral design. Contains (50) bromide photographs, most glued to the mounts, of balloon ascensions during the summer of 1900. Some with photographers name "C. Moulinet" along with a date inscribed in the negative. Loosely inserted in the album are six Real Photo Postcards of the first Coupe Gordon Bennett in September of 1906, the world's oldest gas balloon race. Also includes a couple of technical ink sketches of balloon rope details. Various sizes, with the smallest 1 1/2" x 2 1/2", most are 5" x 3 1/2". Prints are in very good condition, some silvering on the Real Photo Postcards, some foxing throughout board pages.
