Shows a bird on a Hydranga branch as it looks at a large pinkish-blue flower. * Ogata Gekkoh [1859-1920] was a Japanese style painter, and print maker. He was also known as a decorator of pottery and lacquer. Born and lived in Tokyo and he he was a founding member of the Bunten and frequent prize winner at its exhbitions. He served as an illustrator during the Sino-Japanese War. He followed first the style of Kikuchi Yosai, then studied the Ukiyo-e manner by himself.
