All in near-uniform original boards except volume IV which is bound as issued in original morocco-backed boards with title in gilt to upper cover. 257 engraved plates, maps and plans (including frontispieces to volumes IV and V), 25 engraved vignettes, 18 diagrams in the letter press of volume IV, engraved head- and tail-pieces throughout. Blackwells bookseller's label to front pastedown of each volume. Occasional minor spotting and light foxing bit overall contents clean and fresh. Bookplate of Birkenhead Public Library and their stamp to verso of title. Some foxing, intermittent minor dampstain to lower margin. "This work resulted from the activities of the second Ionian Mission sent to Greece by the Society of Dliettanti. Its members were William Gell, Francis Bedford and John Gandy who together provide the illustrations. They reached Zakynthos early in 1812 and proceeded to Athens and on to Asia Minor, stopping at Samos to visit the temple of Juno. Plagued at various places prevented the examination of some of the sites on their program, but a tremendous amount of work was accomplished. On their return to Athens at the end of 1812 they examined the many remains of antiquity in Attica. Original brown paper wrappers stitched in brown cotton, subscription slip for "Unedited Antiquities of Attica", dated 1816, mounted on upper cover. Slight splits to spine ends, generally a very good example of a fragile item. Rare. "This report describes the activities of the Society of Dilettanti's second Ionian Mission, 1812-13, organized under the direction of William Gell" (Blackmer). (Blackmer, 1568.)

Printed at the 101 (H.L.O.) Printing Group of Survey of India, 1969.. Extremely large colour-printed folding map of India and the adjacent countries (82 x 173 cm) mounted onto linen with seven inset maps showing Density of Population, Principal Industries, Geology and Principal Minerals, Orographical Features, Average Rainfall, Isothermal Lines, and a small version of India and Surrounding Countries. Remnants of original paper wrappers printed in red still present to verso. Light spotting to verso only, generally a very good copy of this large-scale map. First published in 1951.

Printed by the Survey of Israel, August 1973.. Two original colour-printed maps of Israel and surrounding regions, each measuring 94.5 x 67.5 cm (189 x 67.5 cm when joined), the cease-fire lines shaded purple, with accompanying pp.14 pamphlet (dated July 1974) entitled "List of Settlements, Localities and Antiquity Sites" which provides an extensive list of each and co-ordinates for locating them on the maps. The maps themselves bearing highly detailed keys showing geographical features, places of worship, antiquity sites, etc. In excellent condition. Showing the cease-fire lines on the eve of the Yom Kippur War, fought from 6 to 25 October 1973.
