A group of (19) photographs of aviation history by various photographers, a number are from the Mansell Collection. Includes everything from biplanes to military aviation. From the early 1900s to the 1930s. Most are captioned on verso in pen on pencil with photographer's credit wet stamped on verso. Print sizes range from 2 1/2" x 3 1/2" to 10" x 8". Most prints are loose, a few are mounted; mostly glossy and some matte prints on single weight and double weight paper. Minor wear along edges of prints, 1 print has a tear on upper edge as seen in image 6, a couple with minor surface abrasions, very good condition overall

An original 9" x 7 1/4" vintage portrait of opera singer Lotte Lehmann with George Platt Lynes' Vogue Magazine credit wet stamped on verso. Likely taken in Los Angeles, California. Printed on double weight matte paper. Ex-collection Paul Cadmus. Printed on double weight matte paper. Slight wear to edges and some silvering along edges visible under specular light as seen in images.

An original drawing on a postcard of an African American woman in profile dated February 22, 1952 and mailed to Carl Van Vechten. Written in Priebe's hand in a circular pattern around the drawing: "Dear Carlo, Ethel was of course wonderful and of course so are you. Again thanks for the fine books LL Karlo. Such strange and lovely photographs of birds flying in the English Book on flight. Frank may come home tomorrow for 2 days! L.K." Fine condition, minimal browning along edges.

A c. 1910 leather bound album with a gilt embossed cover imprinted 'California' contains 50 6" x 8" rich silver print photographs each hand titled in ink on the white border. Contains views of San Francisco, Del Monte, Yosemite Valley and various missions and other locations. The work of a gifted unidentified professional rendering architecture and landscape in a modern precise style that pre-dates Adams and Weston by more than two decades. Some rubbing on covers and wear to edges. Spine in fine condition. Prints are all excellent with some yellowing to the edges of the white border and some barely perceptible foxing. The first image of Mt. Shasta is faded, the rest have survived in nice condition. Likely silver gelatin but with the richness of platinum prints.
