Clean and tidy blue dust wrapper over blue embossed boards. 160 pages. 31 pages of text (in German) followed by 120 pages of black and white photographs published by Manfred Heiting of Cinubia on high quality glossy photopaper. With an essay by Holger Tiedemann. Keetman was a founding member of the avant-garde photography group fotoform and played a decisive role in determining the direction there so called subjective photography took. In the exhibition Subjective Photography put together by Otto Steinert in 1951 and in the accompanying photobook, Keetman's works have a formative role. From 1948, Keetman was represented with pictures in all major German and some international photo magazines. His work series Eine Woche im Volkswagenwerk (Volkswagen: A week at the Factory), which he photographed in 1953 in Wolfsburg, became particularly well known. A limited edition print by Dutch figurative painter Kees Salentijn. Colourful parrot numbered # 59 of 120; on rag paper. Signed by the artist. The image is sized 240 x 170 mm (9½ x 6¾ inches). It is held behind passe partout and in an aluminium glazed Barth frame. The item is sold in the frame. Total size: 335 by 300 mm (13¼ by 11¾ inches). Beautiful condition. Frame is also in excellent condition. Kees Salentijn was born in 1947, and attended the Rijksacademie voor Beeldende Kunsten in Amsterdam with O.B. Kat as his mentor.

Illustrations by Julien le Blant engraved by Toussaint. Le Blant was a pupil of E. Girard and started at the Salon in 1874. He was a Gold Medal at the Universal Exhibition in 1889. Reliure demi-cuir. Auckland: Richards / Collins, 1980. A stunning collection of 34 full page colour portraits, each with a brief biography of the subject on the facing page. The end-papers feature detailed drawings of each intricate tattoo. First edition in unclipped dust jacket. 96 pages. 335 x 245 mm (13¼ x 9¾ inches). Dust jacket and book are both in a very good condition. The clear removable plastic protective cover had sadly been secured by sticky tape, over time some of the residue has transferred to the endpapers (this is shown in the photographs). The portrait artist Harry Sangl created these works of art after seeing a centenarian Maori woman with a moko (chin and lip tattoo). He undertook a three-and-a-half year journey around the North Island of New Zealand during the 1970's, looking for the last remaining Kuia (Maori women) with such decorations.
