Produced by the Imperial Hotel, this guidebook is chock full of advertisements of local businesses and services in the Pietermaritzburg area (also called Maritzburg). Booklet includes a laid-in pamphlet from the Imperial listing hotel tariffs. Even in 1927 hotels were charging to park your car. Very Good. Set of 5 pen and ink sketches: 4 of catholic churches in New Mexico and 1 depicting lettering that reads “Feliz Navidad y Prospero Año Nuevo”. The artist has signed each of the church sketches as “Sanchez”. We could not find any information on the artist. Sketches were drawn on illustration board and measure between 5 ¼ x 9 ¾ and 8 ½ x 11 inches. All but one has tissue paper protecting the sketch; the tissue paper is taped to the top edge. Some sketches have white out and paper glued or taped to them. Minor wear to edges, else very good condition. Churches depicted: 1. El Santuario de Chimayo (catholic pilgrimage site in Chimayo, New Mexico) 2. Iglesia de Santa Cruz (Santa Cruz, or Santa Cruz de la Canada, New Mexico) 3. Iglesia de San José (Trampas, New Mexico) 4. Iglesia de San Pedro (unknown location). .

Jacket is plain leftover craft paper with some blocks of green spray paint on surface; chipping at edges and joints. Some browning and toning on paste-downs. Pages are clean and rough-cut. Title illustration from a photograph by Henry Flannery. A meditation on generations to come inspired by a bronze wood art piece. [pp. 16] ; 4to 11" - 13" tall .

Boards have light wear and soiling; front gutter is cracked; text block has light soiling. This souvenir book is profusely illustrated and contains a history of the Black Hills in South Dakota. Towns highlighted include Custer, Rapid City, Hot Springs, Sturgis and Belle Fourche, and cultural history of the area is also presented. .

There are no copies listed on OCLC of this scarce birding pamphlet prepared by the superintendent of schools in La Grange, Illinois. White stapled pamphlet has black title art on the front cover. Wraps are shelfworn, toned, browned with age and show soil markings and damp stains. It has creases from being folded and all pages have tape on the fore-edge to repair a torn crease. Inside pages show scattered soil markings and toning. There are eight pages of bird descriptions from English sparrow to Wild Canadian Goose, as well as passages on their feeding habits and color. From the Notes and Suggestions: "The birds in the following list may be found in any neighborhood in Cook County." The text goes on to suggest the best times of year to spot birds and other books that identify birds. ; 8vo 8" - 9" tall; 11 pp .

California is shown as an island, and Terre Australe is a vague line encircling the Antarctic. Terre de Iesso is the name given to the land mass northwest of North America. Custom bound copy of Volume 65 of the Proceedings of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences, published in three parts from June, 1930 to May, 1931. Maroon cloth boards, label affixed to spine with black lettering. Boards are in fine condition. Housed in matching slipcase, also in fine condition. Binding is tight. Interior has very light toning and chipping to corners of a few pages. There is a small hole near center of title page that extends through the first three pages. Cover from original wrapper is laid in, has significant creasing and chipping. Edward Sapir was an influential anthropologist and linguist known for his contributions to the study of native languages in North America. Columbus, OH: Champlin Press. Very Good. Hardcover. Bound in green cloth over green marbled paper boards, each volume contains six issues of this charming literary periodical published in Columbus, Ohio by the Champlin Press between 1898 and 1900. Wraps are bound in. The Honey Jar was "...prepared for the delectation of theose choice spirits who love to follow a neat rivulet of text as it meanders through a meadow of margin." It published poetry, short stories, and facsimile copies of bookplates. Most copies we have found reference to are in red cloth and marbled paper. The first three volumes were edited by D. C. Sapp, and the fourth by W. R. Colton. Colton notes in the fourth volume that it will regrettably be the last, although the journal did make some sporadic appearances later on with different editors.
