A few spots of foxing, most obvious on the title page and the frontispiece page, (shown in photo). and on the top edge of text block. Overall a tight, clean very good copy.. Grace Tabor's first book on landscape architecture and gardening. Ms. Tabor was a pioneer American landscape architect who preferred to create garden designs for people of average income. She wrote a column for Woman's Home Companion that ran until 1941. She encouraged gardeners to be more imaginative with their landscapes and not to rely so much on shrubs and evergreens.

Tight, clean and very good but for a few pencil notations and underlinings throughout. Previous owner's name in ink on ffep./Jacket is very good.. The Names of Jesus contains the First Series of Speaker's Lectures delivered by Dr. Vincent Taylor at Oxford in the year 1951-52. It discusses, not only the well-known names and titles of Jesus such as Son of God, Son of Man, Christ the Lord, but all the names and epithets applied to Him in the New Testament, some fifty-five in number. These titles are summarised under the headings, Messianic Names, Messianic and Communal Names, Soteriolgical Names and Christological Names Proper. Special interest is taken in the ferment of Jewish Christian thinking, illustrated in such terms as the Bridegroom, the Shepherd and the Stone; and also in the titles, the Last Adam, the Image of God, the Word and the Amen.

Overall very good.. Picture is truncated because my scanner is not big enough for this book. Tales from: Rip Van Winkle, Robin Hood, Heidi, Arabian Nights, Tom Sawyer, Gulliver's Travels, Rootabaga Stories, Dr. Doolittle, Robinson Crusoe, Uncle Remus, Treasure Island. In this story book are gathered together eleven childhood favorites from books that are loved and cherished all over the world. There are 7 titles listed on the back cover, Bartholomew and the Oobleck, printed in 1949 being the latest. 4to 12-1/4" x 9-1/4". Glossy pictorial boards. Black and blue pictorial endpapers. A lovely early copy of this recently discontinued book. Clean, crisp, unmarked pages. Two pages have invisible phantom line impressions, if you look closely, that show that someone tried to trace a picture. But there are no marks. A little faint wear at top and bottom of spine and bottom edge./No dust jacket.. Dr. Seuss.

Overall crisp, clean and very good.. Illustrated by Paul Brown.

Overall sturdy and very good for what this little book seems to have gone through!. Engraved frontispiece portrait of James Thomson. Engraved title page.. Two interesting inscriptions: First fly-leaf - "Susan Andrews, the gift of P Andrews March 13, 1823." Second fly-leaf - "Found by George (John ? . . . wich) in the Hippodrome Field, Notting Hill, June 1861."
