Edward Thomas (1878-1917) originally made his name writing travel accounts and critical reviews. The commencement of WW1 in 1914 and his friendship with Robert Frost, the famous American Poet, caused Thomas to start writing poetry. He continued to produce his wonderful poetry until he was tragically killed during action on the Western Front in 1917. (Edward Thomas, Petersfield Museum.)
