Goupil, Paris, 1880; Woodburytype photograph of illustrious French sculptor Mathurin Moreau (1822-1912) among whose many celebrated works and public commissions are the Fountain of Tourny, the Caryatids at the eastern side of the Paris Opera House, and the Oceania sculpture in the forecourt of the old Orsay Train Station. Photo measures approximately 3 1/2" x 5", mounted on the first of four 11" x 14" pages of illustrated biographical and critical text, in French, by Henri Demesse. Additionally laid-in is a large 7 1/4" x 9" photo of the Moreau sculpture "Le Sommeil," mounted on 11" x 14" card. From the 19th century "Galerie Contemporaine" photographic collection of distinguished figures from the arts and sciences, published in Paris by Goupil and issued in parts from 1876 to 1884. Fine condition.

Actor’s prompt book for "Fool Of The Family" one act comedy taking place on the estate of prosperous land owner Mr. Sanders, indulgent father of two nubile daughters, the elder of which, Lucretia, is conscious of her elevated social position and affects high society manners, while Betty, the "fool of the family," is rustic, frank to a fault, perfectly content with kitchen work and farming chores, and thus a source of some embarrassment to her sister. Lucretia is openly pursued by Augustus Gumption, foppish aristocratic milksop with an eye on her dowry. Betty is secretly desired by Zebulon, a common farm hand who has just been promoted to farm manager by Mr. Sanders and so feels qualified to seek the hand of the squire’s daughter.
