Description:
This 11 1/2" x 7 1/2" album was a Christmas gift to Helen, from Laura in the year 1922. A number of photographs were made before 1922, but most of the pages - at the time - were blank, waiting to be filled with memories, and Helen did. 58 leaves/ 115 pages, 340 photographs. Photographs vary in size, most range 2 1/2" x 4 1/4" and 3 1/4" x 2 1/4". Images are contained in corner tabs and glued to the page. A couple of news clippings, mention Miss Helen Walper - "of East Mine Street [Harrisburg, Pennsylvania], a stenographer for the Hooven Mercantile Co." and her vacations of note. Helen Walper had an unmistakable love for the water, and unwavering appreciation for her family and friends. Throughout, are photographs documenting travels to Lake Nuangola, along the Susquehanna River, the Hudson River, Niagara Falls, Lake Ontario, Rockaway Beach, Ocean Beach, Bear Mountain. She can be seen paddling a canoe, picking sea shells by the sea shore, splashing in the ocean, and standing on the boardwalk.…

50 leaves/ 97 pages 14 3/4" x 11 1/8" scrapbook kept by Harold Ware Hull, Who was the staff artist at The Denver Times. This album holds nearly 200 newspaper clippings of his work at The Denver Times, a few from The Rocky Mountain News and some advertisements. Sections of the newspaper are from 1915-1916. Several photographs of Harold Hull himself as well as photographs of his artwork appear to be from 1913-1915. There are also three original illustrations. Hull's illustrations accompany several tragic stories, including the story of a presumed crime scene, the "Denver Automobile Tragedy", and the story that broke the "Eastland Steamship Disaster". Hull also illustrated many advertisements. These advertisements were for Columbia Records, the Fay Bros. Meat Market Co., Schaffer Auto Supply, Scripps Booth Luxury Cars, Pritt's Bran Bread, and Oldsmobiles. Hull regularly advertised for Jefferay's department store (1635 Jeffery Curtis.) "where the "utmost" in haberdashery awaits you". Hull also sketched…

Description:
Richard Wilson Webb (1901-1966) wrote under the pseudonym "Patrick Quentin, Q. Patrick and Jonathan Stagge with other collaborators, including Hugh Callingham Wheeler (who went on to work with Steven Sondheim). The majority their writings feature a recurring character named Peter Duluth, a Broadway director, WWII veteran and recovering alcoholic who, with his wife, always seem to stumble across murders. Here is a 6.25" x 8" handwritten diary by Webb, with 18 pages starting in 1924, which tell of his moving from the United Kingdom to South Africa. I believe he was teaching at the Saint Andrew's School in Bloemfontein. He was happy to leave England, but in these few pages, with dates few and far between, he seems to be unhappy and is hoping to find himself. Also in this journal are another 22 pages of notes, including a story that he was starting to write called "The Puff Adder," and another called "The Strong Silent Man." Part of these notes include "Plots, etc," in which he writes about "A scandal…
