london: Jacob Tonson, 1707. Leather. Good. Abraham Cowley's Works, 1707, Three Volume Set, The Tenth Edition. Beautiful set that deserves a rebind. Originally rebound by J. Larkins in full leather. Volume three published in addition 4 years later (1711) and contains my favorite illustrations and text. The pages and plates are extremely clean. No foxing. Almost seems as if the edges were protected with a non-gilt solution (by the rebinder). Either way, would be a stunning set in a fresh binding. There are some slightly 'darkened'/browned sections but again, no foxing whatsoever. Still a great and beautiful piece of history either way. All the plates are in good shape including a fold out illustration which I simply can't get enough of. Covers are all extremely weak or detached. Volume two has both attached but barely. Boston: Damrell and Upham, 1898. First Edition . Hardcover. Good. An Account Of Anne Bradstreet By Luther Caldwell - Inscribed By Author. For those that do not know Anne Bradstreet, she was the first writer to be published in the English North American colonies. Born in 1612 as Anne Dudley, she married in England at 16 and moved to American two years later with her husband, Simon Bradstreet. Only one of her poetry works, "The Tenth Muse, Lately Sprung Up In America", was published in her lifetime (1650). Over time, more material came out and eventually this book, written by Luther Caldwell, came around in 1898 and represents perhaps the most concentrated and essential collection of her work to date. This copy is inscribed to two friends, James and (?), by Luther Caldwell and also has an interesting correction on the and. Cover has some staining as shown. Philadelphia: George B. Zieber. Cloth. Good. Aladdin Or The Wonderful Lamp 1846 George B. Zieber Edition. A copy that is not without its flaws, What is overall good. Moderately foxed throughout. Beautiful hand colored illustrations. Binding has some issues in the middle, as pictured. Hinges are weak but still intact. Bottom 1/2 inch of spine missing, 1 inch more is ripped on one side. Aladdin or the wonderful lamp was originally published in 1846 with a copyright by George B zieber. Later impressions of the same addition would be published by Lindsey and blakiston. halter. First Edition . Very Good. Overall very good condition with a good dust jacket. Does jacket has some minor tearing to the top edges but it's complete without any major tears or rips. Book itself is very clean and very tight with good binding and good hinges. A great recollection of the history of American swords worn by the uniformed offices of the United States from the revolution to the close of World War 2. In addition to the nice inscription on the front end page, there is an additonal note written in before the title page that says "P. s., the signature under the photo isn't his real signature, it was his secretary's writing"Front hinge is a little weak and there are some minor cosmetic issues.
