DJ is brittle and has heavy chipping and tears with large piece missing from rear of jacket. Front and spine are faded/sunned. Blue cloth boards underneath are clean and gilt is bright, exterior boards have no issues. Internal binding is good and text pages are tight. Pages are clean and bright with no handwriting, no bookplates, no library markings, no signatures. Also found within the book are two pieces of ephemera which are from the Hillwood House in Washington DC. One flyer talks about the tour along with the CW Post exhibit and the other flyer is a map of the Hillwood grounds. These are included with the book.

First edition thus with single date on the copyright page. Illustrated end pages. No signatures or bookplates though one of the front end pages shows were a store price was penciled in the corner and then erased. End pages show some toning because of the paper reacting with the dust jacket. A nice clean copy with only some minor foxing, toning and fade on the exterior. DJ has price sticker in corner. New York: Eaton & Mains, 1913. 1st Edition . Hardcover. Near Fine/Good-. 12mo - over 6¾ - 7¾" tall. See photos for condition details. Small hardcover with original dust jacket. DJ is toned with tears and bumps. Grey cloth boards with pictorial front, boards are clean and bright with only very minor corner and edge bumps. Exterior shows only very minor handling wear/spoiling. Internal binding is good and text pages are tight. Pages are toned due to age and type of paper used. Limited-edition to 300 volumes printed on 100% rag paper by the Milford Chronicle Publishing Company. Front pastedown contains bookplate of original owner. Only other issue is exterior page edges shows spotting. Book contains 558 pp. of text and 133 pp. of index (691 pages total).

Original price of $2.95 is still present on the front flap. Lower corner on front flap is angled but this is typical. DJ has yellowed with age and has numerous stains and soiling, along with minor dampstains near the bottom corner of the jacket. Edges and corners are quite bumped small tears and chips present. Purple paper boards underneath with black cloth to spine. Boards show some fading along edges along with soiling at edges as well. Internal binding is good, no hinge issues. No signatures or bookplates, no library markings. Pages are toned with age and some minor foxing is present though mainly limited to the end pages.

New York: Hearst's International Library Co., 1914. 1st Edition . Hardcover. Good+. 8vo - over 7¾ - 9¾" tall. See photos for condition details. Dark orange cloth boards show scuffing and spotting along with edge and corner wear/toning. The internal binding is overall good with the exception of some pulling and a crack starting at the front hinge, of which the top half has a thin crack which should be easy to glue back in place as it is more on the front pastedown and the hinge itself. The front end page contains the original owner's name along with a 1917 date. This is the only handwriting found in the book. There are no bookplates or library markings, no torn or loose pages. The rear end page has a very slight ripple along the top edge. It does not show up in the photos but if you run your finger along the top edge feel some bumps.

Stockton, CA: College of the Pacific, 1950. 1st Edition . Hardcover. VG-/Good-. 8vo - over 7¾ - 9¾" tall. See photos for condition details. Hardcover with dust jacket. The original price of $5.00 is still present on the front flap. DJ is yellowed with age heavy wear/chipping/tearing to the edges and corners. The rear of dust jacket has a stain in the lower right corner. Blue cloth boards underneath shows toning along edges along with the spot that matches the rear of the DJ. Internal binding is good and text pages are tight, no hinge issues other than some wrinkling to the paper in the gutter area at the front board. Inscribed and signed by the author on the front end page: "Karl W. Johnson - Greetings from California! I trust you may find real pleasure with this book. R. D. Hunt. August 1954". No other handwriting found in the book.

Paginated in sections -- approximately 170 pp. Bound in blue buckram, stamped in gilt on front and spine. Included in book is a single page copy of "War Room, May 7, 1945". Inscribed by the author on half title page where he gives the book to Mr. Thacher Longstreth (author misspelled his first name) - who served in the navy and was awarded the bronze star, became the president of the Philadelphia Chamber of Commerce, and served on the Philadelphia City Council. No other handwriting noted in book, no bookplates. Binding is tight like unread. Exterior clean. See photos.

Softcover, tan card stock wraps decorated with blue and red with the Christian warrior flag on front and rear. Both front and back shows wear something was scribbled with pencil and then attempt to erase. Exterior also shows soiling as well as edge and corner bumps and a slight drink ring on the front. Interior pages are toned due to age and some spotting and smudge marks are present. Previous owner's name written in pencil on the page opposite the copyright. No other handwriting found. Rear end pages have a small corner fold. Book has been placed in a protective archival bag for storage.

Inscribed and signed on the half title page which appears to be a gift inscription to a friend of the author: "To Jane Vickers, with best Christmas Wishes from Neferta and Seri. Eloise Lownsbery". Neferta and Seri happen to be the two main characters in the book. DJ is in two pieces, split at the front fold, and there is a large piece missing at the bottom of the spine area. The jacket has been placed in a protective mylar sleeve. The original price of $2.50 still present on the front flap. Tan cloth boards underneath showed toning along edges and soiling spots are present. No bookplates or library markings present. Exterior shows spotting and soiling with heavy fading to spine and board edges. The spine has some chipping along the top edge and there is a small spot of green paint present. Internal binding is good though there is some pulling at the front board along with a closed tear, measuring almost 3 inches, at the gutter of the front end page. Pages are toned due to age and scattered foxing and spotting is present. Pale yellow end pages and pastedowns and front and rear. No signatures or bookplates, no library markings. The front end page has faint evidence of what is probably a price once penciled in the corner and backside also contains additional penciled pricing. Reddish brown boards with black design and text on front, text on spine. Illustrated end pages showing Camp Fire Boys fishing and camping. No handwriting or bookplates noted, no torn or loose pages. Pages are toned due to quality of paper used and some foxing and spotting is noted. Spine is sunned and front board has some white marks near the hinge area. Book condition graded as VG minus. Hardcover, black pebbled cloth boards quarter bound in leather on spine. Boards and edges show bumps and wear with the leather worn along edges. Interior binding good, no hinge cracks, no torn or loose pages. Binding is secure. Previous owner's name on the second end page and there's quite a bit of foxing present throughout the book, with the end pages been the most severe. Some pages were found to have small corner folds of which apparently were caused by handling and were not intentional.

Hardcover, blue and tan cloth boards decorated on front and spine. Exterior shows toning and spotting along with edge and corner bumps/wear. Internal binding is good and text pages are tight. The front pastedown contains a bookplate which is the only markings in the book. There are no signatures, no handwriting, no library markings, nothing torn or loose. Pages are toned due to age and both end pages and pastedowns show foxing and spotting, mainly due to the type of glue the publisher used.

Original price of $3.00 still present on the front flap. DJ has edge and corner bumps/tears. Binding is darkened with spots in large tear near the top by the word "Candle". Yellow cloth boards underneath are still bright though spine shows darkening. Binding is tight and pages are clean, no signatures or bookplates present. Only handwriting found in book is on the front end page where there's a small " OP" penned in the corner.

New York: Minton, Balch & Co., 1927. 12th Printing. Hardcover. Very Good. 4to - over 9¾ - 12" tall. Lois Lenski. See photos for condition details. Tall hardcover, light blue cloth boards show minor scuffing and soiling along with very light edge and spine sunning. Internal binding is good and text pages are tight. Copyright page shows only the original publication date of 1927 but it also states twelfth impression, so it is likely this was printed at a later date - especially since the interior the book is in such fine condition. The illustrated end pages in front and rear are free of any handwriting or bookplates, no remainder marks, no handwriting etc. Pages are clean with the only issues being a couple random corner bumps. The book contains six full color illustrations (all of which have been verified as being present and in good shape) as well as numerous black-and-white illustrations. The book grades as a strong VG, borderline VG+.

Hardcover, red and white polkadot cloth boards show scuffing and soiling along with edge and corner bumps/wear. The front interior hinge is good but the rear hinge is cracked and the webbing is exposed. The binding of the text pages portion appears good with only some pulling in spots. The front end page has a price sticker residue in the upper corner along with several other prices in the same area, which is a little difficult to see against the black paper. The half title page also had handwriting in pencil which was erased, although you can still see remnants. No other handwriting found, no bookplates, no library markings. Some smudge marks and foxing spots are also present, though there only scattered. Title page states second printing.

Hardcover, tan cloth boards with blue text on front and spine. Exterior shows minor spotting and soiling along with some light edge and corner bumps. The worst issue is at the lower right corner of the rear board where there is a dark line present. The internal binding is good and text pages are tight. Paper is toned due to age and there is some light foxing present, though this is mainly limited to the end pages and pastedowns. No signatures or bookplates, no library markings, no handwriting found. Stated first edition of April, 1948 on the copyright page.
