All printed on card and the text is set within decorative gilt and blue borders. In fine condi tion. 102mm x 63mm, Marcus Ward & Co Ltd. 1886. ~ The text contains a list of the Royal Family, postage costs, festivals, eclipses, and a calendar for 1886. A number of years were illustrated by Kate Greenaway, and although this is in a similar style this is not by her.

Seventy-seven mounted photographs, mainly of cathedrals, but also with some street scenes, and a few reproductions of old master pictures, some with a short hand written note. Contemporary dark red half morocco, gilt banded spine, pebble grain cloth boards. With the name R.A. Allison, June 1875, on the front-end-paper, and his handwritten notes and titles to the images. 4to. c375mm x 300mm. 1875. They include: Durham (6) / Newcastle / Winchester (12) / Worcester (2) / Gloucester / Ely (2) / Carlisle (6) / Pisa / S. Marco Venice / Arles (2) / Oxford High Street / Pavia / Milan / Cologne (2) / Pisa (3) / Elgin / Genoa / Robert Andrew Allison, of Scaleby Hall, north east of Carlisle. He was a local M.P. and Justice of the Peace.

1840. Unbound. Very Good. COASTAL SCENE. An attractive Grand Tour watercolour depicting a coastal scene, with boats, an bridge and a castle and town in the distance. In very good bright condition. Tipped onto a backing board at the upper edge, and window mounted. 88mm x 128mm. c1840.

Cooke, from a volume of 25 plates entitled 'Leaves From My Sketch-Book' (First Series), published by John Murray. 1876. 160mm x 190mm (to the outer ruled border of the images) - with border, and lettered below. Slight marks to borders.

Second edition, revised. xv, [1], 177, [1]p. Full contemporary dark green calf, gilt panelled spine rather rubbed and worn at head and tail. A possible family copy, inscribed "To Emily Long from her affectionate friend J. Lawrence." Dedicated to Barbarina, Lady Dacre. The author was a close friend and near neighbour in Liverpool of Felicia Hemans. 12mo. Liverpool: Deighton and Laughton. 1849. Copac records Oxford and BL only of this edition.

It is particularly requested that visitors will not touch. A broadside listing 53 exhibits, with each artist's name or initials. It also notes that there are "various other curiosities." Central fold, in very good condition. 264mm x 207mm. Ellis Printer of Penistone. c1875? ~ Artists named include J. Screw, Waterman, Shallot, Steele, Russet, T. Eyer, S. Wire. Possibly an exhibition by pupils at the school? Other paintings are by "an old Master", "Art Critic", and "the Directors". The 'New Wesleyan Chapel' in Penistone, opened in 1873, and also had a school room.
