Rare signed first edition. Author's signature (last name), without an inscription, appears on the full title page. This is probably a later printing. The number line on the copyright page reads, "QUM 10 9 8 7 6 5" . Both book and dj are in "As New" condition. Dj is encased in a Plasti-Kleer transparent cover.

We believe this is a first edition, later printing. The Copyright is 1920 and publishing date 1921. However, there is no indication of any other printing date. The book, which is difficult to find, is in excellent condition. The binding is tight, pages are clear, clean and only some minscule wear on a few of the pages. No marks or foxning. The cover has no wear at edges or corners; some fading on cover and spine. The covers are protected with a hard cellophane cover. See photos.

Some fraying at top cover corners and top and bottom of spine; and same age discoloration on the inside covers. Otherwise, no apparent fault; no tears or blemishes.

The Black publisher's first edition of this Hercule Poirot mystery. Condition faults we found: Light foxing/toning on the inside covers and adjacent flyleaf pages and copyright page; miniscule darkening/soiling on the spine and front cover. No dj.

This is a beautiful little volume with high quality paper and interesting woodcuts throughout, along with the stories of the Mexican revolution. It is in near fine condition. Faults we found: shelf wear at top and bottom of spine and cover corners, discoloring at bottom section of spine and initials at top left of first fly-leaf page and also some light soiling on that page. all pages are clear, clean and without foxing. This beautiful book is one of a 2000 copy limited edition. The book and dj are virtually new. The only fault we could find was an almost microscopic nick at the top of the front dj cover.
