No Dust Jacket 158 p. + 50 plates, including original etched frontispiece, "Cattaro (Kotor): Ancient Venetian House", with printed tissue overlay, and 20 additional illustrations from etchings and drawings by the author; also works by Frank W. Benson, D. Shaw MacLaughlan, John Taylor Arms, Will Simmons, Lionel Lindsay, Katharine Cameron, and others; 2 additional ill. in text. Bibliography. p. 149-151. Plowman (1869-1932) was born in Le Sueur, Minnesota and received a Bachelor's degree in architecture from the University of Minnesota in 1892; he gave up his architectural practice in1911 in Berkeley, where he had worked since 1904, to take up etching full time.
