A pair of albumen photographs mounted on both sides of an album page of fencing competitions, c. 1880. Beautifully executed graphics and rich sepia toned albumen prints. Indecipherable blind stamp in lower right corner of one negative. Each print measures 7 1/4" x 9 3/4", album page measures is 11" x 14". Album page is minimally warped, has some light browning and a few small chips around the edges. Prints are in very fine condition, light surface abrasions visible only under specular light.

8 unmounted sepia tone albumen prints takin in various locales in the Philippines including Binando, Manilla, La Escolta, Mont de Piele, La Luneta, and Rio Pasig. 7 of the 8 prints are titled with the location in pencil verso. 2 prints measure 4 3/4" x 6 1/2"; 1 measures 6 1/4" x 8 1/2"; 3 measure 7 1/2" x 10 1/4"; 2 measure 8 1/2" x 11". Good condition: some paper wrinkling throughout, most have linear indentations across corners from previous mounting, the 2 8 1/2" x 11" prints with paper along some of its edges as seen in images. Prints are clean with good tones.

A fine album of (26) original gold toned gelatin silver print photographs, 9" x 7", mounted on linen promoting Hotel Del Monte, the first true resort hotel in America. The first image has the photographer "Graham" credit in the negative. Includes landscape, architecture and the leisure activities offered by the hotel, including golfing, swimming, tennis, fishing and trap shooting. The photographs are artfully and professionally composed, reflecting the grandeur and luxury offered by the establishment. The cover is gilt embossed "The Enchanted Circle, Monterey Peninsula California." The title page contains a printed description espousing the virtues of the hotel. Each image has a title affixed to the facing page describing the photograph, the caption of the first image is printed on page, subsequent captions are on typed labels affixed to page. A fine sixth plate ambrotype c. 1850 in original case of a man with a large goiter. Mounted in a half case. Sitter wears a knit scarf over his jacket. Case measures 3 1/2" x 3". Good condition, spot on sitter's forehead as seen in images, case is detached.

Five early Max Weber Announcements / Checklists from various galleries in New York and Europe. RARE pieces of art historical ephemera. Sizes vary from 6" x 4 3/4" to 5 1/2" x 3 3/4". Two feature saddle stitch binding, remaining checklists are folded. Light browning along edges and normal wearing as expected given their date of production, very good condition.

Wonderful subject matter includes military portraits, ethnic portraits, landscape and water views. Approximately (18) prints are titled in pencil on the mount or in the negative, some including the names of pictured military officers. Album pages have browning along edges as seen in images. Some silvering along edges of a few prints, overall in very good condition.
