Stories by FRANK BRIDGES, JOHN MASEFIELD, FRANK BOWEN and others. COPAC records various short runs at the BRITISH LIBRARY and the NLW - it appears to have started in December 1927 and to have run at least until 1930, latterly under the changed title of 'The Young Adventurer and the Friend Ship'.

Original cloth, the boards blind-stamped with the title in an oval surrounding an heraldic device, all within an elaborate border, the cloth now faded, spine dilapidated, front joint weak, a little foxing and browning at the front. A good working copy of a scarce title. *COPAC gives British Library, NLS, Oxford, Cambridge and Exeter - there is also a copy in the Shakespeare Institute, Birmingham. It is rather scarce in commerce.

Boards loose, lacking backstrip, a few edge tears [the JULY cover has a long tear, without loss and a small hole at the top edge], the first leaf, the cover for January, a little soiled at the edges, the last three leaves slightly creased and nicked at the edges, generally in very good condition. *Bound with the covers, most of which have a patriotic design, wonderful advertisements, especially those for cars, an evocative social document at the end of the First World War. Annual volumes are scarce, especially those with covers.
