This book is 5 by 7 inches. It is inscribed "Yuletide Good Wishes, Wm Jay Belknap" and autographed, "Truly Yours, Charles Eugene Banks" written on front page is Hilo December, 1921
The cover is made from Hawaiian paper made from sugar cane. There is a description of this on the inside front cover.

8x10 photograph of Herbert Hoover, signed. Portions of a letter also Signed on letterhead of Department of Commerce. Dated 1921.
Herbert Hoover was Secretary of Commerce from 1921 to 1928. He was President of the US from 1929-1933.

Photo is in very good condition with small crease at top right only visible at extreme angle against light. Lettter was pasted to the back of the original frame and exposed to air and bugs over time.

2nd edition. bookplates. Occasional pencil notation. Very good copies all in the original gilt-blocked, fine-ribbed, blind-tooled cloth.
