Description:
A c. 1910 leather bound album with a gilt embossed cover imprinted 'California' contains 50 6" x 8" rich silver print photographs each hand titled in ink on the white border. Contains views of San Francisco, Del Monte, Yosemite Valley and various missions and other locations. The work of a gifted unidentified professional rendering architecture and landscape in a modern precise style that pre-dates Adams and Weston by more than two decades. Some rubbing on covers and wear to edges. Spine in fine condition. Prints are all excellent with some yellowing to the edges of the white border and some barely perceptible foxing. The first image of Mt. Shasta is faded, the rest have survived in nice condition. Likely silver gelatin but with the richness of platinum prints.

Description:
This c. 1900 carbon print panorama attributed to Rice & Perkins is looking out toward Honolulu Harbor. The Wai'anae mountains, (the other set of mountains on O'ahu island) is in the right background. The prominent road visible under the Wai'anae mountains leads to "Sand Island", basically a permanent shoal in Honolulu Harbor. The road exists to this day, called "The Sand Island Access Road." Dimensions: 7 1/4" x 26 1/4". Very good condition, extremely minimal paper loss around edges as seen in image.
