London: Harper Collins, 1998. 1st Printing. Hardcover. Fine/Near Fine. First thus, originally published in 1973, this hardcover edition from 1998 appears to be much rarer than the first edition! Blue cloth with gilt titles, an attractive, square, tight copy which appears not to have been read. Text-block evenly toned and so not quite fresh but a Fine-condition copy nonetheless, free from owner names etc. The dustjacket is unclipped, has two minor wrinkles at the crown. Very slightly stretched but otherwise Fine or very near it.

The Bodley Head, 1968. 1st Edition . Hardcover. Very Good/Very Good. First Printing of the First UK edition. A VG, square and reasonably tight copy. Free from owner names or library markings etc. The corners are bumped and spine tips pushed but structurally in nice shape. A couple of large spots at the fore-edge accompanied by 4 or 5 smaller ones and the block has sustained a bump at the bottom of the first 50 pages or so there is a minor crease to the bottom of the lower corners.A very acceptable copy nonetheless. The dustjacket is unclipped with a nick at the crown and at the top edge of the front flap. Small stain at that last place as well and minor browning along the top edge of the flaps. and on the inside surface of the jacket. In the accompanying image the spine of the dustjacket appears to have faded b ut that is just a trick of the light, in fact the colours are unfaded and the jacket presents well. Not a Fine copy but now a book that is hard to find in any condition.

Fascinating account of how a French Resistance member escaped more than one attempt to execute him while imprisoned at Auschwitz. !/4 cloth, 192 pages. Spine rolled a wee bit and the corners and spine ends are bumped. Further bump to the lower edge of the lower cover. Upper cover bowing outwards. Free from owner names etc, Good condition. The dustjacket is unclipped but tanned and shelfworn with small chips at the spine ends and corners.

London: Orion, 1999. 1st Edition 1st Printing. Hardcover. Near Fine/Very Good. First Printing. SIGNED by the author (for the seller in person) at the title page with hangman doodle. Not quite straight (very slight lean) but a Near Fine copy - pushing to the spine tips) in Near Fine dustjacket with some creasing at the crown and rear panel.

Castle Douglas: Burnside Press, 1995. 1st Edition . Soft cover. Good. First Printing. 24 pp, stapled card covers. Good condition but with some off-setting along the top margins (and towards the fore-edge of the flyleaf). A rare item, nicely and simply inscribed by Willie Neill to the previous owner with date and signature.

London: Ernest Benn Limited, 1949. 1st Edition . Hardcover. Good. Full leather gilt, SIGNED by Ernest Benn, no 29 of 35 copies set aside for members of the Collector's Book Club, 100 copies in total were issued. Some scuffing to the backstrip and foxed at the fore-edge, less so at the bottom edge. Previous owner name and date at the half-title. A sound, tight binding, between Good & VG.

London: Hamish Hamilton, 1993. 1st Edition 1st Printing. Soft cover. Very Good/Very Good. The Young James Bond creator's second novel, a dark tale of emotional instability. Published as a Paperback original, wrappers but with dustjacket. The wrappers are a little bit creased along the edges, the jacket also has a minor crease at the top edge, front panel. The block is tanned. SIGNED by the author at the title page.

Porvoo: WSOY, 1996. 1st Edition 1st Printing. Hardcover. Fine. Pietilä, Tuulikki. First Thus, the Finnish language edition of Tove Jansson's final, original book which was published in English as "Notes from an Island" in 2021. Written with her life-partner, Tuulikki Pietilä (who provides the striking illustrations) the book describes episodes from the many years spent at their remote summer cottage off the coast of Southern Finland and is a touching finale from these two great artists. Blue cloth with silver titles at the backstrip, pp. 102, a Presentation copy inscribed and dated to its recipients by Tuulikki ("in friendship") in the year of publication and signed simply by both "Tove" and "Tuulikki". A very pleasing copy of this attractive book.

Finland: Republic Pictures, 1951. 1st Edition . No Binding. Very Good. A standard Finnish A2, cinema poster for the Western, Hellfire, starring Wild Bill Elliott and Forrest Tucker. The film was first screened in Finland in 1951 with no further theatrical releases. Signed in the plate by the artist and this poster measures 24" x 16.5" approx. It is in Very Good or better condition with no pinholes or adhesive residues. The original vertical and horizontal fold lines are visible and there has been some further folding in its history. No edge-wear to speak of, free from nicks and tears. A nicely preserved, vintage cinema poster, however, clean and very bright.

The movie did not reach Northern Europe until 1970 and was therefore retitled "Hell's Angels 70". The film opened in Finland in July 1970 and had a limited release which dates this poster to late 1970. You are looking at a "tour" poster printed for distribution to the small regional cinemas and other venues (e.g. clubs, village halls etc) outside of the main cities following the initial theatrical run. Finnish tour posters are re-sized printings of the normal A2 lobby poster, usually slightly narrower and longer with printed margins at top or bottom (sometimes both) with spacing for information about location, times, ticket prices etc. They were intended for circulation around the area where a screening was due to take place and were therefore posted at bus stops and on telegraph poles as well in shop… Read More

A limited edition of authorised photographs taken by renowned stills-photographer David James during the filming of HIGHLANDER (1986). The edition was limited to 500 sets of which this is number 275. To our knowledge the set was not available commercially for sale and was intended for cast and crew members and publicity purposes etc. All 15 black and white prints are present, each one blind-stamped and numbered in pencil 275/500 by the photographer. Included in the set are some of the most iconic images from the movie. Each photograph is mounted, the cards measuring 16" x 12" approximately. Actual images, comprising both landscape and portrait measure 12" x 8" approx. Limitation certificate signed by David James the photographer is included with the set.
