Description:
An exemplary large 8vo., 709pp., featuring pictorial boards and a jacket meticulously wrapped in mylar. Unique in its presentation, the title page indicates "Second Edition," a nod to the book's layered narrative, but this is indeed a true first edition, signed by Danielewski with a prominent 'Z' on the flyleaf. Another notable 'Z', dated "November 3, 2000," adorns a page with the cryptic statement, "This is not for you," placed between the Forward and Intro. Included is a rare collateral flier for Poe (Danielewski's sister), adding further dimension to this already intricate work. "House of Leaves" transcends genre, intertwining elements of horror, metafiction, postmodernism, romance, thriller, philosophy, and science fiction into a labyrinthine narrative. An exceptionally fine copy, both an amazing reading experience and a collector's item.
