Presentation copy, inscribed, “For: Carey Wilson, who forced me to continue scribbling when defeat hit me - faithfully yours, Darryl Francis Zanuck/ ‘23.” Wilson was an important figure in the film industry in the twenties and thirties, writer of Ben-Hur and Mutiny on the Bounty, and a founder of the Motion Picture Academy. Wilson’s bookplate on the front paste-down, his blind stamp on the rear free end-paper; front hinge cracked; very good in dust jacket.
