Original printed wrappers. = Two well-illustrated papers by the French entomologist and malacologist Jean Risbec (1895-1964). The first deals with insects from various Sub-Saharan crops, including benign and noxious species; the second deals with parasitic wasps, and contains the descriptions and illustrations of many new and poorly known species. The drophead title of the second work is Proctotrupidés de la Section technique d'agriculture tropicale (O.A.F.) et proctotrupidés du Muséum national d'Histoire naturelle (Afrique et Colonies françaises). Front free endpaper partly clipped, the former owner name F. Gorriols, however, found in the top margin of p. 401; otherwise a very good, clean copy.

Contemporary black half calf over marbled boards, spine with gilt lines and title. = Giacomo Bresadola (1847-1929) was one of the most important Italian mycologists. This book contains the descriptions and illustrations of edible and poisonous mushrooms from Italy and the Trento area in particular. This is the second, enlarged, edition, with a new preface, and with a several more plates than the (also very rare) 1899 first edition. Several bookdealers report a second edition with only 112 plates. This edition was the last published before the author’s death. Uniform contemporary half calf over marbled boards. Spines with four raised, gilt-ornamented bands, compartments with gilt vignettes, two morocco labels with gilt titles. Floral patterned endpapers, marbled edges. = Both volumes deal with the volcanoes around Rome. The first with the Lazio volcano in the Alban hills, the second with volcanoes in the Cimini hills. The first part is volume ten of the Memorie descrittive della Carta geologica d'Italia, the second part is volume 15 of the same. Front hinge of first volume weak, one of the several views on the monte Cavo (plate 2 in volume I) never bound in. Otherwise this is a complete, clean set. Rare. Not in Ward and Carozzi.
