Description:
John Maclean: A Fighter for Freedom. By Tom Bell, published by the Communist Party, Scottish Committee. One of the first blank pages is torn out but does not affect the text or reading. There are also a few pencil drawings as if a kid got ahold of the book at some point. All text is readable and spine is intact. From the preface: Scotland has every reason to be proud of its contribution to the development of the Labour and Socialist movement of Great Britain. This contribution has taken a variety of forms, trade union and political organisation, and theoretical and practical propaganda. Its more spectacular contribution, however, has been in the personalities who have distinguished themselves in advancing the movement. Of these no list can be considered complete that omits the name of the school teacher socialist John Maclean.
