This very scarce piece of Western Americana was reprinted from the tenth volume "Kansas Historical Collections", in the same year as publication, 1908. Illustrated throughout. Major portion deals with the Kansa tribe, their history. The second part relates the story of Father Padilla. Fray Juan de Padilla was America's first Chrisstian martyr, killed by the native Americans he was attempting to serve. His burial monument is near Council Grove, Kansas. 52pp. We find numerous listings from print-on-demand companies, BUT this is the only real one we have been able to track down in recent years. .
