Kyoto: Yamada Shinshindo, Meiji 19 [1886].. Original hand-coloured engraved map of the world (50.5 x 71 cm) with 9 vignettes depicting major cities including Paris, St. Petersburg, and Philadelphia (as well as one fantastical view of a coral mountain), embellished with decorative title and border, folding between original yellow card covers with title label to upper cover and old ownership inscription to rear cover. Neat old paper repairs along central fold, some light wear along folds, generally in very good condition.

[Paris: Lucien Vogel, 1919-1922].. Original lithograph printed on laid paper, additional illustration to verso (c. 33 x 25 cm). The 6 issues of Les Feuillets d'Art were published in Paris by Vogel between May 1919 and July 1920. Les Feuillets was issued in limited edition portfolio form. Each issue contained 5 feuillets, or leaves, on the subjects of literature, theatre, arts and design, music, and fashion (issues 3 through 6 have a sixth leaf, les feuillets de la publicité.) Vogel intended for Les Feuillets to be a fashion-savvy review in which he professed a dedication to "finding in the taste of the moment all that is traditional and durable." To accomplish his goal Vogel brought together the crème de la crème of the literary, artistic and musical worlds of 1920's Paris. Amazingly there is poetry by Paul Claudel, the younger brother of sculptor Camille Claudel, the first publication of a composition by Maurice Ravel, and original woodblock prints by Raoul Dufy, Odilon Redon, and John Storrs.

Roberts was the first independent, professional British artist to travel so extensively in the Near East. His tour in 1838-9 produced 272 sketches, a panorama of Cairo and three full sketchbooks, enough material to "serve me for the rest of my life" (Roberts, eastern journal, 28 Jan 1839). Cartographers to the King...12, 13 & 14 Long Acre and Whitehall House, 43 Whitehall SW1" dissected into 24 sections, folded to 20 x 12 cm., backed on cloth, brown mock leather backing covers, printed title label "Mongueflo" and label of Edward Stanford Ltd. Cartographers to the King...12, 13 & 14 Long Acre and 43 Whitehall label to upper cover, titled by hand "Mormolata". Ownership inscription of L.Killby added to front label. Killby was a specialist in cotton, writing papers on its production in, inter alia, the Sudan and Trinidad.

Theodore Henry Adolphus Fielding (1781 – 11 July 1851) was an English painter, engraver, and author. In addition to his watercolours, Fielding also worked in stipple and aquatint, and published numerous sets of engravings in the latter technique, such as this. (Abbey Scenery 20; Tooley 214).
