Neatly rebacked, the spine with raised bands and a contrasting label. Endpapers renewed. Evidence of use but still a pleasant copy in very useable condition. Dated from the colophon at the foot of p.120 'Printed by J. Rider 14, St. Bartholomew's Close, London'. John Rider II printed from this address from 1835 until his death in 1849. (Bigmore & Wyman Bibliography of Printing, II, 258). Untraced in library catalogues.

Franckfurt am Mayn Jacob Fischer,, 1626.. 1626 Folio. [10], 460, [28] fols. Title page printed in red and black within an elaborate woodcut border. Illustrated throughout. Contemporary blind panelled pigskin binding over wooden boards. Fittings for clasps. The joints are cracking at the head and tail of the spine and there is a little loss of leather at the headcap. The title page has been re-inserted at some time with gummed paper tape. The paper is uniformly toned with some old damp marks on the fore edge. The final leaves have edge tears and a few old paper repairs to blank margins. Not a fine copy but complete including the final blank leaf. There is an early inscription Loci Capuchinorum Bolsani (Bolzano) at the foot of the title page, and the stamps of two later owners on the front pastedown.
