Condition: Spine ends somewhat nibbled. Pages slightly toned due to their age, one mark in the margin of page 103. No foxing. Else a very good copy.

Condition: Binding a bit scuffed and bruised at corners and spine ends. Pages slightly toned with age, pp. 107-110 detached. Despite the occasional minor blemish, a very good copy.

Condition: Bindings a bit scuffed and worn. A tear of about 2 cm in the outer joint of vol. 2. Rear board of vol. 2 is scuffed over an area of approximately 1 × 4 cm. Inner joints of both volumes intact. Contents slightly browned due to age, sporadically somewhat browned, soiled and finger-stained. Still a good copy.
Notes: Only fragments of the original Satyricon have survived. François Nodot filled the gaps in the surviving text with imaginative forgeries and produced a French translation of the whole (1692–94). Brunet notes that the present… Read More

Second edition of the work first published in 1755. Undoubtedly one of the best general treatises on gnomonics of its time.
Description: Contemporary calf, gilt titles and decoration to spine, raised bands. Octavo: 20 × 12 cm; pp. [6], xxii, 404, [4]. Engraved frontispiece by Gazot, a printer's device on title page, 34 fold-out plates and a map of France dated 1760, engraved after R. Bonne.
Provenance: An older small label on the front pastedown: M. Daupeley, propriétaire, Nogent. Neat ownership signature of Lanoir to verso of front free endpaper.
Condition: Some rubbing to extremities and slight wear to the spine, headcap is missing, outer hinges somewhat fragile with age. Front flyleaf with an open tear in the gutter area. Text with block occasional mainly marginal spotting and browning. Paper repair in margin of plate 25 and the 'Map of France'. Despite the described blemishes, still a good copy.

Inserted: Loose enclosed the original publisher's subscription form.
Condition: Cover somewhat soiled, with some bumps and tears to the head and foot of the spine. Unfortunately without the glassine wrapper. Faint marginal toning to contents. Overall, however, a very good copy.
Notes: La loi daccommodation chez les borgnes (The Law of Accommodation in the One-Eyed), was conceived by Picabia as a screenplay for a three-part film in which the reader would "project the story onto the screen of his own imagination". Published in May 1928.

Condition: Binding shows some minor bumps and scuffs and a few surface abrasions. The joints are somewhat age brittle. Contents with occasional minor blemish but generally clean. Nonetheless a very good copy.
Notes: Duhamel du Monceau's manual is considered a milestone in the literature of naval architecture and shipbuilding. This second edition, with an additional chapter by the author himself, contains corrections and additional illustrations not included in the first edition of 1752.

Notes: In its 16-year history, the Société de Bibliophiles Les Plaquettes has published only two works.
