Seven topics each with 8 colour plates, including Animals, Fairy Tales, Nursery Rhymes & Tradesmen. Alphabes, music and silhouettes in B&W. No title or publishing details as usual. Magician’s Blow-Book. These books were so designed that a blow of air by the conjuror and a swift riffling through the pages produced a different set of images, depending on how it was held by the various notches on page edges.

An attractive and decorative map with inset two town plan of Glocester & Bristol, crests and elaborate coat of arms, and two stylised battles. In very good condition. Some slight on centre fold. Left hand side of cloth mount a little marked. Wooden fame has a few little nicks. Large double sided map (engraved surface 20.5 x 15 inches). Gold tinted black hardwood Frame, with glass front, with a cream cloth mount. Frame Size 27 x 23 inches. The maps by John Speed are "the best known and most popular of all English county maps" (Tooley).

An attractive and decorative map with inset town plan of Chichester, crests and elaborate coat of arms, vignettes of galleons and sea-monsters, there is a Civil War battle (probably a skirmish at Haywards Heath) and a representation of William the Conqueror's fleet arriving at Pevensey. In very good condition. Some slight darkening around edges and centre fold. Professional repair lower margin. Unframed. Large double sided map (engraved surface 20.5 x 16 inches). The maps by John Speed are "the best known and most popular of all English county maps" (Tooley). This is a very famous map, engraved by Jodocus Hondius in 1610 and first published the following year, in Speed's atlas 'The Theatre of the Empire of Great Britain'.

Grant, 1900 1st. Woven Silk Portrait in Card Mount. Card-mount: 17.8cm tall by 11.2cm wide. Silk: 11.5cm tall by 6.7cm wide. In very good condition. Card trimmed on side edges. Some rubbing to lettering on front “Woven on Pure Silk.” A couple of minor marks to mount. Silk has some minor tanning at top else bright and clean. No printed label on rear. The Grant version first appears under the title 'Empire Makers', a series which also includes Field-Marshal Lord Roberts, General Sir Redvers Buller, and Lord Kitchener of Khartoum - all issued in about 1900. There is no credit to Grant on the front of the card-mount or on the special 'Soldiers of the Queen' printed back-label which is normally found with these Boer War portrait silks.
