Good/No Jacket. 210pp plus twenty pages of engravings to rear, some fool has written the date of publication in ink under the latin date on the title page but I cannot find any other inscriptions. Looks like endpapers have been replaced and has been rebound in full leather with title to spine with single word Buffon. Internally there is light foxing and some dirty marks throughout, foxing is more pronounced on engravings. Overall this quite a good copy of a scarce work. Illustrated with 13 excellent coloured plates of flies, hackles etc all of which are present with their accompanying tissue guards, there are also three additional black and white plates. Very slight rubbing to edges of boards, slightly more pronounced to top and bottom of spine and corners but no fading. Five raised bands to spine with gilt decoration which is only lightly rubbed, gilt decoration to cover also in good order. Text is in very good condition with no marks or turned over corners, appears to have been only lightly read, one small stain to page edges which affects pages 182 to 195, does not affect text or illustrations.
