Small faint stain on back cover. There is a very small spot beneath the "h" in Grahame on the front cover. It looks to perhaps be a tiny hole burned by a spark or maybe an ash from a reader's pipe while he was enjoying the essay on Smoking! Overall a tight, clean very desirable copy.. On the verso of half title page is printed: "This Second Edition of 'Pagan Papers" - the First American one - is practically a re-issue, for the first time, of the English book, published at the end of 1893, and long out of print; less the 'Golden Age Stories, subsequently issued in another form."
