This excellent work represents the third and final edition of Dupont's respected treatise aimed at stating a philosophy of life. Here its core concept of providential laws that govern the entire universe is in keeping with the natural law underpinnings of Physiocratic doctrine, of which Du Pont de Nemours (1739-1817) was a major proponent. One of the central tenets of this ideology is that nothing is done by chance. Rather, providential laws direct the whole universe. This would prove impactful as in 1799 (the year of this work's publication) that Du Pont de Nemours would flee to America, finding comfort in the friendship of Thomas Jefferson. Baltimore, 1937. Broadsheet. 6"x 9". Lightly soiled and faded. Chick Web (1905-1939) was an African American band leader, drummer and jazz musician. A young Ella Fitzgerald (1917-1996) was featured alongside Webb.

An attractive copy of this book on the holiday traditions in the south.

London: The Cosmopolitan Publishing Co, 1906. 74 pp. Third edition. Wilson-Bonchord was imprisoned for forgery. While in prison, like Oscar Wilde, Wilson-Bonchord was denied paper. He sent various appeals for paper which were denied. Discoloration to the covers. Good condition.

London: C. Clement, 1817. 360 pp. Boards detached, spine worn, rear endpaper lacking. This includes very good and detailed information on the liquor trade in England.

Philadelphia: M.D. Swisher, Publisher, 1880. 4 pp. Below the imprint: "Kurzenknaube & Songs' Music Room. 2308 N. Third St., Harrisburg, Pa. Two page piano score. Good condition with light wear and soiling to the edges. Apparently unrecorded. With a striking lithographic pictorial cover depicting costumed Siberian peasants, two gossiping, one returning from the hunt, another in a sled pulled by a reindeer bedecked with an ornate blanket. The composer calls himself a nihilist prisoner but we can find no record of him. Unrecorded.

311 pp. Jachet in poor condition with some of the edges and much of the spine lacking. Bound in black cloth with light wear and a few small dents to the front board. This copy is inscribed by Maine artist Marsden Hartley to his nephew Theodore Newell in New York City in 1924. 14 artists, critics and writers are profiled in the book including Hartley, Wiliam Carlos Williams, John Marin, Georgia O'Keeffe and Stiegliz.
