Description:
A book of war poetry by Canadian soldier William Quintard Ketchum and dedicated to his cousin, James Carleton Ketchum, a member of the 23rd Battery, 8th Howitzer Brigade, C.F.A., who was killed at the Battle of Vimy Ridge. This small volume nevertheless is filled with powerful poems expressing the soldier's experience and thoughts throughout the First World War. This volume is also inscribed by the author, and includes a Preface by Stephen Leacock. This copy is unfortunately in very poor condition. The front cover is missing completely, and while the back cover is present, it is entirely unattached. Despite this, the contents of the book itself are entirely present and legible, and the state of the cover by no means detracts from the the force of the war poetry contained within its pages.
