Skim milk, a substance of reduced nutritional value, and wax, the stuff of religious offerings, are used as metaphors for the complex, shape shifting, and often disappointing policies of the state of Israel. The book opens with the empty desert, the pyramids appear, Sadat appears then slowly disappears, the pyramids disappear, and the desert remains."  The Egyptian president appears as a standing figure throughout the cinematic panorama until, at the end, his presence is a cut-out silhouette, an empty space where his likeness used to be.

Carla Busquets: "An underwater scene where corals and seaweeds create an intimate yet colourful shelter for sea life. We can see jellyfish and other speciments floating amongst the plants or hiding behind the sand. The accordion layers only attached to each other in certain parts allow for the book to stand in different positions, ressembling the fluid and changing nature of the ocean and its life underneath.

Coracle Press: "An essay on the specificity of its subject. In order that Les Nymphéas might be accommodated in the Musée de l'Orangerie in 1927, the paintings had to be prepared in sections. For his purpose of instantaneous tonal perception, Monet painted false seams onto the canvas, thus rendering the breaks in the structure of the room, the real seams, indistinguishable. What was made as an astute gesture on the part of Monet, becomes upon further reflection an irony on the whole theoretical aims of the Impressionist movement. A spectator becomes accustomed to seams.

The photographs come from the Library of congress' digitized collection of Orville and Wilbur's own plate glass negatives. The inside cover image is the telegram the Wrights sent to their father informing him of the first manned, powered flight on December 17, 1903. The photograph on the rear of the spine documents that historic flight. The outside covers come together to show a closeup view of the 1903 Wright Flyer. The text on the right hand pages of the book is excerpted from a letter by Wilbur to engineer and flight scholar and experimenter Octave Chanute, outlining the brothers' plans for solving the problem of flight. The text on the left hand pages is brief passages from the Wrights' letters, diary entries, and reminiscences.
