W. Rolleston, and presented by Willy Pogany. The story centers on the struggle between sacred and profane love, and redemption through love, a theme running through most of Wagner's mature work.

(Bradbury, Amistad Press 23)Created to look like a phonebook, this little gem has both "white pages", (which contain the contact information for real collectors, miniature makers and dealers active at the time of publication in both the US and Canada) and "yellow pages", (which contain advertisements for everything miniature book related). This is the bigger edition and is listed first in Bradbury. The revised edition is smaller.

(Bradbury, Blau 2)Bound by Bela Blau, a Hungarian bookbinder known for his meticulous attention to detail and fine binding of miniature books, this lovely microminiature book has a representation of the stone tablets with inscriptions in Hebrew and the text of the Ten Commandments in English. Scarce in the vellum binding, more commonly found in the gilt leather versions.

Hunter Middleton (the Bewick authority), frenchfold, type pages were letterpress printed on Troya paper by Charles Young at the Norman Press, binding by Monastery Hill Binder, in near fine condition. Bewick is most famous for his book, A History of British Birds, whose wood engravings are much admired for the small and often humorous vignettes. n.p.: n.p., 1969. 28 pp. 4 x 6 1/4"; Stapled booklet with 2 color covers and color centerfold otherwise black and white, minimal edge wear, ink mark on front cover, in very good condition. Underground comix reissue of Tijuana bible material, with cartoons such as "Tillie - The Fire Woman", "Count Screwloose in 'Decoyed'", "A Good Hoseing", et al. Includes an explicit photo. The centerfold is early blotter art and depicts "The Jean Harlot Licky Split Cuntest" that suggests the reader lick the spot between Harlot's legs and wait 20 minutes. Presumably, since this booklet is over 40 years old, there are no illegal substances here. Tijuana bibles are palm-sized pornographic comic books produced in the United States from the 1920's to the early 1960's. Most Tijuana bibles parodied popular comic strips or popular movie starts of the day. For instance, this one has a Popeye the Sailor comic. Blue cloth spine over salmon-covered boards, gilt title on spine and gilt stamped title and illustration on cover, beautiful b&w woodcut illustrations throughout, in fine condition. Plain navy slip case is broken, taped, and missing a portion of bottom panel. Designed by Rockwell Kent and privately printed by A. Colish, this book is a "Tribute to Democracy, to the Destiny of America, and as a strand in the rope of friendship that is uniting us in common effort".

New York: Harper and Brothers, [1870's]. 7 x 10 1/2". Brown cloth over boards with beveled edges, frontispiece etching of Victor Hugo is missing tissue guard, 2 illustrations by Gustave Dore have tissue guards intact, some stains and wear to covers, corners bumped and frayed spine ends show wear, minor foxing, good + condition. American version originally printed in 1867, but this is one of three possible later versions, either 1873, 1875, or 1878 according to their size. (Malan, p.279) Text in two columns. The book is dedicated by Hugo to the island of Guernsey, where he spent 19 years in exile. The novel setting is just after the Napoleonic Wars and portrays the impact of the Industrial Revolution upon the island

Titles are Birth Stone, Language of Flowers, and The Zodiacal Signs and Their Symbols. Miniature books measure 19 mm square and microminiatures measure approx. 2 mm square. Layered into an individually designed leather case designed by Osami Nakao, a well-known Japanese leather craftsman, with a leather-framed magnifying lens on top, 3 microminiatures nestled in a leather board, below are the 3 miniature books (with tiny book plate on verso of front cover), all in fine condition.An equisitely crafted, beautiful and rare set. The Toppan Printing Company in Japan has long been printers of the world's smallest books with many Guiness Book World Record holders

Cardboard slip case is in good condition with some splitting to edges, past repairs, paper label on spine indicating title and limited edition number; Blue cloth quarter bound over decorative boards with torn label pasted down to spine, many black and white illustrations by Gluyas Williams throughout, in near fine condition.A delightful book about a book collector's travels around the world, particularly Scandinavia, London, Paris, Egypt, Jerusalem and Rome, all told from a very humorous perspective. Newton also authored The Amenities of Book-Collecting.

Original pencil drawing on page 115, artist unknown. Hardcover in Very Good condition. Edward Henry Pember was an English barrister, educated at Harrow School and Christ Church, Oxford. The books is inscribed by author at the endpaper: "F. Pember / 1871 / From the author". Presumably this would be his son, Francis William Pember, Vice-Chancellor of Oxford University.
