He saw the first helicopter rescue in 1945, completed by a Bell helicopter experimental aircraft. That hooked him on vertical aircraft. This is an important book about vertical aviation history and told from the perspective of a test pilot, who literally laid his life on the line for advancing aviation.. A great insight into what really happened in the industry. A must have item for the aviation enthusiast.
