Description:
The book is in excellent condition. Dust Jacket also good. Show a bit of discloring due to age but not noticeable. This is a true narrative of Anderson Prison. John McElroy who was in the firt contingent of Union Prisoners sent to Andersonville and survived its terrors, tells this true story in outspoken words.
General John. H> Einder, boasted of "killing more Yankees than twenty regiments of Lee's Army." And Henri Wirz, commandant of Andersonville, who was later tried and hanged for war crimes.
Ceturies later, one realises the impact of such cruelty on prisoners that would go unnoticed if it was not for soldier's accounts and experiences of such inhuman treatment by those in power.
It is a brilliant piece of text in annals of the Civil War History.
