On September 3, 1992, a bar named "Sanctuary: The Vampire Sex Bar" opened on Queen Street West, in step with the increasing popularity of vampiric-goth archetypes. Sanctuary originally imposed a gothic dress code to strictly adhere to the gothic fashion aspect of the scene.Sexual activity did not actually occur in the bar. The book, "Tales From Sanctuary: The Vampire Sex Bar" (1997) documented tales and anecdotes from Toronto's alleged "vampire" scene. Copies of this book by Lee seem difficult to find these days, hence the elevatated price.

Mr. Cinnamon Bear arrived in Cosy Hollow, found a house to live in and immediately put up a sign declairing that he was an inventor and odd-job bear. Though his heart is in the right place, Mr. Cinnaman's techniques sometimes backfire; but his good intentions always manage to save the day. Whoever would have thought a cinnamon bear in blue overalls would have such an impact on an average little animal town. 9 stories in all.

One long (48-page) Tarzan story , "City of Gold" in full colour, plus a few shorter stories in 2-colour. Copyright 1975 but not designated whether it's the 1975 or 1976 annual. Covers have Tarzan standing with one foot on a fallen ape. He's holding a knife and bellowing but is obviously not the one to have killed the ape.

First published in 1994 by Steve and Marion Isham. This new edition (2005) has been rewritten and the illustrations reworked. Every illustration has at least one riddle to solve. There are 34 altogether. The elusive Tasmanian Tiger lurks on every page.

Lake Taupo, New Zealand : Self Published, Abt. 6-1/4 x 9-1/2" tall, 32 pp. 1st Edition (1985). A well-done history including a 2-page layout of the two courses. The Taupo Golf Club started as a 9-hole course in 1928, expanded to the 18-hole Tauhara Course in 1954 and added the Centennial Course in the early 1970's. Today, Taupo Golf Club is New Zealands only golf club offering TWO 18 hole golf courses. Unused score cards are included for both courses. Stiff card wraps with a drawing of the 1932 Taupo Golf course on front and back covers. A Near Fine copy with just a little discolouration of covers. (4 copies available, all with score cards.)

A sentimental story about a Brown teddy bear who was lost and found twice and loved by a small boy and an old man. Warmly illustrated by the author. INSCRIBED by David McPhail: "Warm Wishes to Miss Warner (Tamsine's Teacher) from David McPhail. Nov. 5, 2004" On the front endpaper is a sticker saying "Please Return to Miss Warner".

Decorated 1-10 numbers on endpapers, each number with the proper number of Gumnuts. The wonderful, colourful illustrations are by Vicky Kitanov. Cecilia May Gibbs was born in 1877 in Kent, UK, died in Nov. 1969, in Sydney, Australia at age 92.

At the age of 8, Judy Taylor discovered Beatrix Potter's beloved Lake District when she was sent to boarding school there at the beginning of the war. When she joined The Bodley Head in 1951, she specialised in children's books, and for fiftern years was their Children's Books editor. In 1971 she was awarded the MBE for her services to children's literature. In 1981, Frederick Warne asked Judy to act as their Beatrix Potter consultant.

The herorine is a very smart mouse who talks the boy who is supposed to kill it into letting her and her mother stay. An engaging book that was chosen as one of the best books or the year by the Canadian Children's Book Centre. D.J. has 3 minor bumps at corners.

From the Foreword: "Thomas Cather's journal records a journey to America made in the company of his friend Henry Tyler, between February and December 1836. The present volume covers the first three months of the expedition. The journey was the result of a decision taken on the spur of the moment only ten days before the two young men set sail. They returned to Limavady eleven months later having travelled a distance of about 12,000 miles at a cost of a little over 200 pounds apiece. During their ten months in America Cather and Tyler covered the greater part of the United States from Chicago to New Orleans. They travelled on horseback, in wagons and by river steamer; and they found time to include a voyage to Havana, a visit to Canada and an expedition into Indian territory.

Pretty much the standard telling of The Three Bears and Goldilocks, with good illustrations. An added story features a little polar bear named Snowball and his little Eskimo friend named Saba. They went fishing but before they could pull up their fish, naughty Sammy Seal took them. Then a walrus turned up and roared that they were fishing in his fishing hole. Snowball and Saba ran off and went to Saba's igloo where they were surprised that Sammy Seal had left them a big basket of fish which they began to cook over a small fire. (Yes, there was a chimney so the smoke could go outside.) The old, simple stories can still be appreciated.
