A splendid, Finnish, first-screening film poster for the 1954 Italian epic movie, Ulisse (Ulysses) starring Kirk Douglas, Anthony Quinn and Silvana Mangano. The film premiered in Finland in 1955 and was never re-released. Standard Finnish A2 size, titles in Finnish and Swedish, as usual, measuring approximately 16" x 23.5. Printed by Piirtopaino Oy, artist-signed in the plate. Condition: C7, Very Good. Folding crease visible. Creasing consistent with use of clamps for mounting. Two small chips to left edge near middle - invisible against a dark background (see image). Small tear to bottom edge middle. Strong vivid colouring and a striking poster.

Square, very tight, sharp corners, fresh, white text-block, a really Fine book with a light scratch to the lower cover. The dustjacket is unclipped and in Fine clean condition except for one obvious fault which is a 2.5 inch tear or razor-cut to the rear panel from the top edge down. Has been reasonably well tape-repaired but is still noticeable with minor loss of laminate. Otherwise would be a perfect unclipped dustjacket! SIGNED without inscription or dedication at the title page (for the seller in person), a lovely copy.

Something of a rarity, this book about Swedish literature of the1950's features a cover illustration by Tove Jansson, including a small Moomins-like figure. The book itself is a reading copy only with previous-owner ink underlining in the text. Owner-name and date to half-title.The dustjacket, which duplicates the cover illustration is chipped and soiled around the edges but the front cover is clean and bright. Absolutely for the Tove Jansson completist only but a fun and rare item.

The white background of the dustjacket is remarkable clean. Unclipped, microscopic chips to the corners, minor wrinkle at the tail. Near Fine dustjacket.

Original red cloth gilt with titles to the upper cover and spine. pp. iv, 374, with two leaves of ads at the rear. A very reasonable, bright copy, creakingly tight and square. Dulled at the spine, dust-stained at the top edge. There is light spotting to the fore-edge with occasional, single larger spots to the last 60 pages or so of the block. Bump to the front cover at the top edge but not a bad copy at all, o owner names/marks etc, Good condition.

Original red cloth covers, reading crease along the backstrip, corners with minor bumping, top edge lightly dust-marked. A VG tight, square copy, nonetheless, entirely free from previous owner names, library labels etc and without spotting or similar. The dustjacket is not price-clipped but there is some minor loss at the corners and spine tips. Creasing along the top edges but a Good jacket overall. The author's first novel and now quite scarce.

An excellent set - each book has been signed by both Peattie & Taylor at the half-titles and in addition the slipcase is also signed by both. Each book is near fine clean condition with just minor wear here and there to the glossy pictorial wrappers. The illustrated card slipcase is a bit battered and grubby. Vintage Alex, now becoming hard-to-find from this era.

Bumped at the crown and the corners of the lower cover, top and fore-edge dust-marked and there is the most minor of spotting to the latter. Otherwise VG - free from owner names etc, no internal markings. The dustjacket is complete with no loss and is not price-clipped. Noticeable creasing along the top edge, rubbing to the corners. Slightly browned but overall a VG dustjacket.

Coloured top edge still vibrant and the book is free from previous owner names etc. A VG or Near Fine copy of the book. The dustjacket is unclipped with new publisher sticker (£7.50) over the printed price. Free from any loss or nicks but minor wrinkles at the spine tips and reading crease at spine. The blue "Unfinished Tales" titles at front panel and spine are faded, else Near Fine.
