Good condition.<br /> <br /> Ivan Sozontovich Lukash was a Russian emigre, historical novelist, and journalist born in 1892. He was known to be a close friend of Vladimir Nabokov in the 1920s. Lukash wrote the anti-Bolshevik novel "Blizzard" in response to a competition announced in 1933 by the Academy of Public Education and Cooperation. The first edition of the novel was published in Paris in 1936. Lukash died in 1940.

Fair condition.<br /> <br /> Vkhutemas, short for "Higher Art and Technical Studios" (Russian: Вхутемас), was founded in Moscow in 1920 as a state art and technical school, succeeding the Moscow Svomas. Established by a decree from Vladimir Lenin, its aim was to train highly skilled artists for industry and professionals for technical education. With 100 faculty members and 2,500 students, Vkhutemas emerged through the merger of the Moscow School of Painting, Sculpture, and Architecture, as well as the Stroganov School of Applied Arts.
