Description:
Berlin and New York: Walter de Gruyter, 1995. First Edition. Hardcover. Near fine. Through an analysis of the pervasive presence of formulaic language within the novel, the author makes the argument that Xenophon of Ephesus' Ephesiaka should be viewed as an oral text, or at least a text which arises from an oral narrative tradition. Octavo: x, [1], 215 p. Original green cloth binding, with gilt titles. Issued without a dust jacket. Near fine.
